Young Argentina Crowned 2024 Vice Chancellor’s Cup Champions
Young Argentina FC of Hayin Dogo Samaru Zaria won the 2024 VC’s Cup against Boys United of Samaru last Saturday in a 1:0 trill at the Ahmadu Bello University sport Complex Zaria. At 75minutes of play, Anthony Amos found the net with a right footed shot with an assist from Gabriel Adoli.
Both teams have been sensational in the final. Nassara FC were 2023 winners of the VC’s cup but couldn’t defend it in the 2024 campaign. Young Argentina were awarded with cash prices and a silver medal as Zaria champions of 2024 Vice Chancellor cup.
At the end of the match, the Captain Abubakar Ibrahim Jauro said “Alhamdulillah, it’s a remarkable journey for me and I’m so happy to captain this great club. It’s a dream come true, in fact, a childhood dream and today I captained the team to victory, the first Captain to win the VC’s cup with an unbeaten record. At this moment I would like to thank the players, the coaches and our beloved fans that it wouldn’t have been achievable without them. This one is history, and let us focus on the next coming tournament by not relenting but going back to training and making amendments. Thank you all and remain blessed.”
In so much joy and celebration after being awarded the trophy, the coach, Ibrahim Combine had this to say: “Alhamdulillah! Alhamdulillah! Alhamdulillah! We thank Almighty for bringing us to this final and emerging victorious, all thanks to the players because they are the main actors within and without. It was very hard in the beginning from preliminaries because, we played three matches and all ended draw with one match won and the only team that qualified with Six points in the tournament, but here we are the champions, unbeaten in the tournament, it’s indeed a remarkable journey”, he said.
The 2024 vice Chancellors cup ended in so much beauty and joy from fans all around the city of Samaru chanting and singing to victory.
YAFC are 2024 VC’s cup champion and waiting for more.
