Governor Ahmad Aliyu Orders Vigilance in Project Monitoring, Approves Key Renovations in Education Sector
During the 12th session of the Sokoto State Executive Council held on Wednesday, December 18 2024, Governor Ahmad Aliyu issues a directive to all commissioners to intensify their oversight of ongoing projects under their respective ministries. The governor emphasizes the importance of ensuring contractors adhere to quality standards and meet project deadlines.
“This step is crucial to ensuring that contractors do a good job and complete projects within the allotted time. Proper follow-up will strengthen the quality, speed, and consistency of our work,” Governor Aliyu states.
As part of his administration’s commitment to improving education, which remains a top priority, Governor Aliyu announces the approval for the renovation of 11 key schools to enhance the learning environment for students. The schools selected for renovation include:
- Sheikh Gummi Memorial College
- Hafsatu Ahmadu Bello Model Arabic Secondary School
- Sokoto Science College
- Unity Secondary School, Bodinga
- Sani Dingyadi Unity Secondary School, Farfaru
- Sultan Maccido Institute for Quran and General Studies
- Government Girls Secondary School, Illelah
- Government Secondary School, Illelah
- Government Girls College, Sokoto
- Ahmadu Bello Academy, Farfaru
Additionally, the governor approves the repair of 25 teachers’ houses at Umaru Ali Shinkafi Polytechnic to improve the welfare of educators, further underscoring the government’s commitment to supporting education in the State.
Governor Aliyu calls on all Commissioners to redouble their efforts to achieve the administration’s nine core goals, which form the foundation of the current government. He also expresses his gratitude to the people of Sokoto State for their unwavering support.
“Our actions illuminate our intention to ensure that everyone benefits from democracy in Sokoto State. Together, we will continue to improve the lives of our community,” the governor says.
This development marks another milestone in the state government’s effort to promote inclusive growth and ensure sustainable progress in Sokoto State.
